School Uniform

Thamesview School places great emphasis on being part of the school community and the mini-community. The wearing of correct uniform is an important part of being prepared for learning and aspiring to do your best. Students are expected to take responsibility for wearing the correct school uniform and comply with this policy at all times in school and on journeys to and from school. Students who are inappropriately dressed will face sanctions in accordance with the school behaviour policy.

These rules apply to all students regardless of gender*

  1. School blazers or school jumpers must be worn around the school. They may be removed during break, lunch and in the classroom
  2. Plain white shirt with a classic collar, with a top button that should be buttoned up.
  3. School clip on tie related to the Mini-Community to which the student belongs
    1. Challenger is Blue
    2. Discovery is Yellow
    3. Endeavour is Pink
    4. Enterprise is Purple
  4. Plain outdoor coat

Boys’ Uniform (in addition to *):

  1. Formal black trousers (not corduroy, denim jeans, cotton drill or track suit bottoms)
  2. Black socks to be worn with trousers
  3. Plain black shoes with no visible logos (not trainers, canvass shoes or plimsolls)
  4. Optional - Plain V-neck black pullover or plain black cardigan can be worn under blazers
  5. No other jumpers, sweatshirts or cardigans etc. are allowed

Girls’ Uniform (in addition to *)

  1. Black school skirt (approximately knee length, not short, tight fit, low waist or lycra skirts)
  2. Tailored black trousers may be worn (not leggings, corduroy, denim jeans, cotton drill, ski pants, track suit bottoms or wide flares)
  3. Plain black shoes with no visible logos (not trainers, canvas shoes, vans or plimsolls)
  4. Black socks to be worn with trousers
  5. Plain black tights or ankle length black socks may be worn with the school skirt
  6. Optional - Plain V-neck black pullover or plain black cardigan can be worn under blazers
  7. No other jumpers, sweatshirts or cardigans etc. are allowed

Jewellery/Make-up

  1. Zero makeup is allowed including false eyelashes
  2. Extreme hair styles (cut and/or colour) are deemed inappropriate with only natural hair colour being permitted
  3. Facial piercing is strictly prohibited, e.g. nose studs, eye brow bars or rings as are visible tattoos
  4. Jewellery is not allowed within school except for a watch and a single discrete stud in each ear.
  5. Nail varnish and false finger nails are not permitted
